“I was born in Bellevue, Washington but spent the majority of my younger years in Olympia. I come from a long line of University of Washington alumni, which was the only college I wanted to go to, and therefore, applied to, so thank goodness I was accepted. I obtained my BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University in 2012 and went on to get a Masters in Accounting a few years later.
Not only does my family bleed purple and gold, but we also produce accountants. When asked growing up if I was going to follow in my mother’s footsteps and become an accountant, I would always laugh and say, “heck no!” and here I am, doing exactly what I never thought I would do. Regardless of how I grew up, numbers and analytics is what I get lost in and I love it.
I first met Calyn when I was working at my first “real” job in Olympia at a local savings and loans bank. His official title was “Boss,” but he became a good friend and mentor. We’ve been working together for about four years now.
It wasn’t long after that that I met and married my best friend, Wes, who gives me the world every day. We have two miniature dachshunds, Smudge and Flex, who keep us on our toes. My husband and I are into fitness, we go to the gym basically everyday and are conscious of our diets – it’s turned into a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Oddly enough, I love to bake and decorate fancy cakes, and yes, we do eat them (and donate leftovers to family and co-workers). It’s all about moderation!”
