I was born and raised in a small town in Star Valley, Wyoming. My parents were small business owners, and we lived by the motto “Work hard, play hard.” I attended Ricks College, now BYU-Idaho, and graduated with an associate’s degree. After getting married to my amazing husband and having our first child, I decided to major in developmental psychology, and I attended school part time at Idaho State University and then the University of Idaho, where I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 2007. For the next 7 years I stayed at home with our four kids. Once they were all in school, I began working for Calyn at L.C. Miller CPA and have found my dream job! After years of denying my inner nerd, I came to accept my love of math and all things money, including personal finance, investing, taxes, and accounting. Our family has lived in Nampa, Idaho for the past 12 years and are proud to call it home. I enjoy reading old books, listening to old music, and hanging out with my family in our favorite places: the gym, the mountains, the lake, and the northern California coast.
